Tropical Wedding Decor: a simple way to add a hint of fun to your wedding theme

Tropical centerpiece with wood and metallic accents

You don't need to be jetting off to the Bahamas, Aruba, or Belize or even having a destination wedding of any sort to add a hint of tropics into your wedding decor, and this centerpiece shows how it can be done just right. The wood table numbers are simple and keep the centerpiece grounded, while the metallic pineapple makes it pop!

I thought about this blog post today while I was at Target, where everywhere I turned it seemed like everything was either mermaids or pineapples; it's definitely the trend this summer season. I have to admit, I've jumped on board with this trend just a little when I found the cutest pineapple napkin rings at Tuesday Morning (and since pineapples are a symbol for "Welcome" it seemed like a necessary purchase right?). Anyway as I perused the dollar spot mermaid gifts today, I started thinking about how usually I think tropical themes are better suited for Bachelorette parties or maybe bridal showers (like this adorable themed sign from Etsy for a "Last Splash" Bash https://etsy.me/2K5QJSZ). But I suddenly had the idea that they could actually make great accents for wedding decor too! Now don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting that you wear a mermaid tail to your wedding (although a mermaid style wedding dress on the other hand would be gorgeous--check out these great ideas from The Knot https://bit.ly/2M85Lbi ), but I am suggesting that maybe a hit of tropical fruit accents might be a great way to keep your wedding decor exciting and exotic.

So of course, I always like to check with many different sources to see creative ways to put this idea into place and I found a few great ones on Brides.com's article "A Pinterest-Approved Trend You'll Love: Pineapple Wedding Decor (https://bit.ly/2tofMte). Whether you choose to use metallic fruits, the real fruit, or even just the design, I think this is a delightful way to make your wedding decor have a subtle hint of tropical fun (and better yet, add some tropical fruit to your appetizer list or serve salmon with a pineapple salsa or glaze for your entree)!
